January 2019 data released

The monthly update of the Claimant Count and ONS Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) series took place at 09:30 on 19 February 2019 with the release of new data for January 2019.

In addition to the latest data, DWP have revised the UC element of the Claimant Count estimates from January 2016 onwards, due to changes in the methodology used for identifying appropriate cases for inclusion. DWP have published a statistical notice explaining the changes.

This release marks the eleventh release of figures on a Tuesday following the announcement by ONS on Tuesday 13 February 2018 that they would be changing the day of the week that they publish labour market statistics from a Wednesday to a Tuesday as of April 2018.
