APS - SIC2007 Estimates and 2010 Constituencies

Two significant updates have been added to the Annual Population Survey (APS) datasets: employment estimates based on the latest 2007 revision of the Standard Industrial Classification, and estimates for 2010 Westminster parliamentary constituencies.

These updates are available in the APS datasets using the advanced/wizard query facility:

SIC 2007 Employment Estimates

The SIC 2007 figures can be requested for all APS periods for the following tables:

  • Employment by occupation and industry
  • Employment by age and industry
  • Employment by industry and flexibility
  • Employment by industry and ethnic group
  • Second jobs by industry
  • Job related training

The equivalent tables covering SIC 92/2003 will continue to be published in the short term, but will cease to be updated after mid 2011 (January 2010 to December 2010 period).

Whilst the descriptions of the SIC92/2003 industry groupings and the SIC2007 industry groupings are broadly similar, they are different series and are not directly comparable.

2010 Westminster Parliamentary Constituency Estimates

The estimates for 2010 Westminster parliamentary constituencies have been added for all variables and all survey periods. The estimates can be selected in wizard/advanced queries using the parliamentary constituencies 2010 geography.

These have been created from lower layer super output areas (LSOAs) following the new National Statistics geography policy. Further information on National Statistics geography policy can be found
