2011 Census analysis plans on travel to work

ONS plan to undertake a rolling programme of 2011 Census analysis. A series of short stories on some of the key topics for England and Wales will be published on the ONS website following the second release of 2011 Census statistics. The analyses produced will supplement the published tables.

The topics that will be detailed include travel to work. In addition to updating existing 2001 Census-based travel to work areas for the UK and the CommuterView product, using 2011 Census data, it is planned to publish, with an England and Wales coverage, a series of short stories on analysis of travel to work commuting patterns in relation to mode of transport, occupation and distance travelled.

ONS is interested in knowing if users have any other suggestions for analysis on the travel to work theme which is likely to be of wider interest. If you do have any suggestions for additional analysis, or would like to register an interest in being kept informed over travel to work analysis plans, then please email ttwa@ons.gov.uk.
