Northern Ireland data
Is there a way of generating detailed sub-regional data on Northern Ireland employment figures by sub-industry? I am using BRES/ABI data sets.

There seems to be no option for Northern Ireland on geography option?

We have never had NI ABI data because of differences with the ONS survey. I found this link which may help http://www.detini.gov.uk/deti-stats-index.htm

This is actually due to the complicated world of devolved administrations, legal instruments, levels of independence etc.

Basically statistics in different parts of the UK have different levels of autonomy from ONS depending on the legal instruments, level of devolution of different policy areas etc.

In the case of Northern Ireland, many things are conducted separately by NI, with their data sent to ONS to be combined with GB data, while NI retain ownership of that data. For many datasets, the only geographic data that ONS receive is that this is NI data, with no lower geographic information.

Therefore ONS (and consequently Nomis) does not have the information provided to produce the detailed geographies in NI for these datasets. NI independently conduct their own dissemination of this data.
