ASHE occupation / industry
The news item says there is no breakdown by occ / industry for ASHE on Nomis. Does this mean it will be coming soon or that we are never going to get it. IMHO it is pretty useless without this breakdown, and this was the main thing I used NES for.

There is an occupational/industry breakdown of ASHE data but only with regional data, not with the local authority data we have on Nomis at present. We are working on the regional data and hope to have it on Nomis early next year. In the mean time, you can download the full spreadsheets with the occupational breakdowns from the main ONS website:

http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/publications/all-releases.html?definition=tcm%3A77-21502

We
included a short warning in an earlier news article published at the tine the NES data were withdrawn. I have included this below ...

"As a result of the introduction of the new methodology and suppression criteria, it will not be possible to publish ASHE data on Nomis in the same format previously available with NES. Some analyses, such as occupation breakdowns at local authorities level, will no longer be available and, as the ASHE data are non-additive, users will not be able to add together dimensions (eg create user-defined geographies, occupations)."
