LEPs Available as a Standard Geography; Profiles for LEPs

From 14 April 2010 Local Enterpise Partnerships (LEPs) are available as standard geographies with most Nomis datasets. They are listed under the commonly used heading of the geography option in wizard / advanced queries. We have also released labout market profiles for LEPs.

We are using the latest LEP boundary definitions as published on the Department for Business Innovations and Skills (BIS) website. Currently these are the 1 April 2011 version. We will update our LEP geography with any new definitions published by BIS as quickly as possible.

To make updates to the Nomis LEP geography easy to track, we have included the BIS revision date in the geography name. It will initally appear as local enterprise partnerships as of 1 Apr 2011 indicating that these represent the LEC boundaries as published by BIS on 1 April.

There is a thread about LEPs in the Nomis forum. Please use this for discussion of the LEP geography. Background information about LEPs is available from the BIS website.

LEP Labour market Profiles

LEP profiles are available from the summary statistics heading on our homepage. The content is identical to the local authority profile except that the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) tables are excluded. Because of the way ASHE estimates are supplied (as medians), we are not able to derive ASHE estimates for new areas such as LEPs ourselves.

Like other profiles, those for LEPs will always show the latest figures. Use the view time series and compare other areas links at the top of each table to get data for previous dates and to view data for all LEPs on a single page respectively.

The links in the list below can be used to go to the profile for each LEP directly. Each LEP's link is unique and will not change each month when new data are released. You can bookmark a link or email to colleagues then reuse the bookmark/link each month to get a profile with the latest statistics.
