The monthly update of the claimant count series took place at 09:30 on 13 May 2015 with the release of new data for April 2015. The full list of updates is given below.

Next month's Claimant Count

From next month's release the Office for National Statistics will be changing the seasonally adjusted headline measure of the Claimant Count to include out of work claimants of Universal Credit.

This change will impact datasets held on Nomis, as many datasets reflecting the number of claimants of Jobseeker's Allowance only will therefore no longer reflect the headline measure of the Claimant Count. Meanwhile a new Claimant Count dataset will become available on Nomis. An update article with more details will follow.

Accessing the data

Headline statistics: The headline national and regional figures are available from the regional and national profile or as a spreadsheet download (xls).

For local areas use either the local authority profile, parliamentary constituency profile, or ward profile depending on the type of area for which you want figures.
