Create a direct link to data results (live-link)
Live-links are an easy way to give others access to the results of your Nomis query.

When you create a live-link, you will be given a unique web address (URL) that points at your results in Excel format.

Whenever you visit the link an Excel file will download immediately. Because your query is run and the results generated each time you visit the link, provided you have selected the latest date in your query you will get the most recent figures whenever you download the data.

You don't need to log in to Nomis or know how to build up a query in order to use these links and you can pass them on to anyone or include them on a Web site.

To create a live-link you must be signed in as a registered user:
  1. build up your query
  2. Advanced query users click download data, Wizard query users click Finish
  3. Click "Create live-link" underneath the usual link to your data
  4. A panel will expand beneath the link
  5. In the Title box, enter a suitable name for your link
  6. Click the Create Link button
  7. Make a note of the link given, which can be used from any computer

You can see a full list of the live-links you have previously created in the "live-links" section (click "my account" on the home page).

Notes:
  • Annual Business Inquiry datasets (requiring Chancellor of the Excehquer's Notice for access) can not be used with the Live-links feature due to the nature of the access restrictions on these datasets.
  • This feature is available to registered users only
  • There is a limit of 100,000 cells per download and larger queries may take 30 seconds or more to run before your download begins
